Gloria Lapeña new protagonist of the series of talks about Contemporary Art in the FCP
After the participation of the artists Nono Garcia, Torregar and Juan Jose Ayllon in 2013, we celebrated on March 26 a chat '... In the workshop Gloria Lapeña '.
The young Murcian artist, only 24 years old, scholar in the Emerging Art II Call for FCP, counts this moments with the FCP with the exhibition “El espacio que habit(u)a’ a sample of photographs, models, and patterns that invite the reflection about women’s submissiveness in a private environment.
The chats having been included in the program, III Festival Nacional de Mujeres along with the exhibition, with more than 300 locations around the country participating in the month of March with a variety of activities that make the work of women visible the work of women within the Spanish art system.
During the chat, Gloria Lapeña shared with the audience the basis of the creative process of ‘El espacio que habit(u)a’ as well as her previous project ‘Un muro para contar mi historia’, directly relating with the current and was sponsored by the University of Murcia.
The act had the presence of Mrs. Jose Carceles, Director of the Festival de Miradas de Mujeres in the Region of Murcia, along with Juan Garcia Sandoval, juror in the II Convocatoria de Arte Emergente, known cartoonist Juan Alvarez and the artist Ramón Lez among others.
The Foundation Casa Pintada returns in 2014 with this series of talks called “In the Workshop with…” on the establishment of contemporary art. The main reason for which the foundation develops this activity is to create a new way of approaching contemporary art, enabling a direct contact with the new creators and their benchmarks, influence and inspiration. Similarly the technical and implementation aspects that are characteristic of each of the participating artists will be discussed.
