The Foundation Casa Pintada opens Modern Marie Antoinette’s,
Photographic exhibition compiled by Edurne Herrán
A new pop-art project that closes the season with a striking proposal on the myth of the marriage through its clothes and aesthetics.
The Foundation Casa Pintada- Cristobal Gabarron Museum in Mula presents next Thursday in July 3 at 8pm the exhibition ‘Modern Marie Antoinettes’, by Edurne Herran. This photographic exhibition of wedding dresses downloaded from the Internet, intends to invite reflection on the world of weddings in our culture.
In the artist's words, "I sail the Internet looking for pictures of resale wedding dresses. Downloaded these images to complete my own collection. People who put on sale these dresses make non-professional treatment to safeguard their identity from the images, cutting heads in some cases, or painting them and crossing them out in others. I find it interesting to speculate about the reason for selling; may be due to marriage failure, or simply out of economic necessity, but in any case it makes us think about the myth of the wedding and everything that revolves around them. "The show will last until July 30.
