2008

The 2008 FCG International Awards Ceremony was held on Friday 10th October.

Valladolid’s Teatro Calderón became an outstanding venue from 19:30h onwards last Friday 10th October as it hosted the personalities from the world of culture, art, politics and social life who gathered to pay tribute to the nine award-winners.

The FCG International Awards were first held coinciding with the 10th Anniversary of the creation of the Foundation, in 2002. The contest, which is of an international nature, intends to recognize the work and pay tribute to the exemplary trajectory of both individuals and institutions that are committed to the defence of those values that are the main pillars of the Foundation itself, along with the contribution they make to humanity in each of the categories.

Over the last seven years we have tried to award and pay tribute to the effort and work of those who, through their work, show that they are committed to the universal values of culture.

The Cristóbal Gabarrón Foundation also made the scenography of the Ceremony part of its Cause. The artist, Cristóbal Gabarrón, as has now become traditional, personally undertook the design of the stage in the Calderón Theater across which all award-winners walked.

The existence and tradition of this contest, which celebrated its seventh anniversary this year, has become a consolidated event and has extended its influence thanks to the participation of faithful collaborators and sponsors such as:

ABC, AC Hotels, Caja Duero Savings Bank, IBERIA, Renfe, Spanish National Television TVE, The Valladolid City Council and The Castilla Leon Regional Government
