Performance

The Awards Ceremony started off with an artistic performance by Amancio Prada. The artist delighted those present with performances of “A ti” and “Libre te quiero”

 Amancio Prada was born in Dehesas del Bierzo (León, Spain) in 1949. He studied Sociology at the Sorbonne Univerity in Paris and Harmony, Composition and Guitar with Michel Puig and Silos Manso.

The work of this musical artist (Dehesas, Leon, Spain, 1949) as a composer and performer has always had a literary basis; throughout his discography (over 25 records), he has created an anthology of Peninsular lyrics, from the Cantigas de Amigo for the first Galician-Portuguese troubadours of the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, including the Romanceros Juan del Enzina, Santa Teresa de Jesus, San Juan de la Cruz, Rosalía de Castro, García Lorca, Juan Ramón Jiménez, and up to contemporary authors such as Agustín García Calvo, Carmen Martin Gaite, Ferlosio Chicho Sánchez, Juan Carlos Mestre and Manuel Vicent, among others.

 

He has participated in numerous national and international festivals and has given concerts in Rome, Stockholm, Geneva, Buenos Aires, New York, Lisbon, Caracas, Oporto, Chicago, Mexico, Rabat, Cologne, Utrecht, Ravenna, Athens and Brussels, among other cities.

 Amancio Prada has won numerous awards, including the Castelao Galicia Medal and Castilla Leon Arts Award.
