Trezenzonio. Possible worlds, by Ilídio Salteiro

Mula, September 11, 2019

Title and author of the exhibition: Trezenzonio. Possible worlds, by Ilídio Salteiro.
Place: Rooms 1 and 2 of the Casa Pintada Foundation-Cristóbal Gabarrón Museum in Mula (Murcia)
Dates: From September 19 to December 8, 2019
Organized by: Casa Pintada Foundation-Cristóbal Gabarrón Museum and Cristóbal Gabarrón Foundation
Curators: Olga Rodríguez Pomares, doctor of Fine Arts from the University of Murcia and Juan García Sandoval, museologist, curator and art critic.

In Trezenzonio. Possible worlds, the artist has been inspired by the story of Trezenzonio, an Asturian monk who, according to an 11th century story, was able to travel to one of the islands of Paradise, the great Solstice Island. From this trip and, through his informal painting, but without losing the figuration, Salteiro shows us, in Rooms 1 and 2, mysterious compositions, full of light with intense colors that acquire a new expression.

Yesterday afternoon we started the new season of temporary exhibitions at the Cristóbal Gabarrón Museum in Mula. These new exhibitions were in charge of the Portuguese artists Ilidio Salteiro and Dora Iva Rita, who presented us "Trezenzonio. Possible Worlds" and "Anima Mundi" respectively. We were surrounded by a large number of artists from the Region of Murcia such as Antonio Tapia, Nono García, Concha Martínez Montalvo, Nicolás de Maya and Andrés García Mellado, among others, who accompanied us throughout the evening.

Ilidio Salteiro is Vice-President of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon and of the Centre for Research and Studies in Fine Arts (CIEBA); at the same time, he is a member of two editorial boards of the magazines Estúdio, Croma, Gama, Matéria Prima and Arte Teoria.

Dora Iva Rita holds a degree in Fine Art-Painting from the Lisbon School of Fine Arts, a Master's degree in Art History from the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, a PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Lisbon, and has participated in numerous social, cultural, artistic and research initiatives. At the same time, she is an integrated researcher at CIEBA - Centre for Research and Studies in Fine Arts (University of Lisbon).
